Atlas xl version 3.5 for Dynamics AXä
Analytics and reporting
The Atlas xl module can be used for a variety of purposes. Primarily it allows you to prepare reports, extract transactions, produce matrix analysis similar to pivot tables from selected Dynamics AX elements (such as accounts, assets, inventory items and dimensions) and it allows you to post budgets and actual transactions all from within Microsoft Excel. Dynamics AX is the source of the information and Microsoft Excel is the presentation tool in which you work.
Atlas xl includes the ability to:
· Build an Excel function that when calculated returns a value from Dynamics AX
· Build an Excel function that when calculated ranks a reference item according to some other basis
· Build an Excel function that when calculated returns a reference element from Dynamics AX
· Extract transactions and format them before pasting the result into a range of cells
· Extract a matrix that represents the balance or movement in the elements selected.
· Drill down from a cell balance to transactions, either through a wizard or directly into Dynamics AX.
In addition, it allows you to prepare transactions to be posted back into Dynamics AX, which is the subject of the user guide: Journals and Data load.
Atlas xl is a load-and-go component for Dynamics AX. It makes use of the sophisticated COM technology, which means you don’t have to worry about complex query languages to get at your data. Before you can get to use the features of Atlas xl you must install it and install COM component on each workstation wherever you want to integrate Microsoft Excel with Dynamics AX.
